Distinguished Alumni Corner

Ms. Omoniyi (Nee Okedokun).

Following extensive deliberations and careful consideration, I am thrilled to unveil the recipient of the BHSSAANA‘s prestigious title of Distinguished Alumnus for the year 2023/24. Ms. Omoniyi (Nee Okedokun), an esteemed member of the 1976 graduating class, has been chosen for this remarkable honor.

Ms. Omoniyi’s remarkable journey with our beloved institution began right from her first year at BHS, with her impeccable sense of cleanliness in her iconic skirt and blouse school uniform. Her charm and extroverted personality endeared her to her fellow students.

Ms. Omoniyi stands out as a pioneer member of our association. She holds the distinction of being the sole female member within our esteemed association who has not missed a single convention, whether held virtually or in person. Furthermore, she has maintained a perfect attendance record at our meetings since the inception of BHSSAANA. Her contributions extend beyond her presence at events; she has served as both Treasurer and President for two terms, a feat unmatched by any other member in the history of our association. Under her exemplary leadership, BHSSAANA executed a project of great significance—the installation of a modern water system toilet in our alma mater. This generous donation was commissioned at the occasion of our school’s 60th anniversary. Ms. Omoniyi’s dedication to BHS and to our alumni group is truly commendable. She consistently seeks opportunities to enhance our association’s standing. As an outspoken woman, Ms. Omoniyi is never afraid to express her opinions on matters affecting our association and alma mater, and thereby influencing our decision-making.

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Omoniyi as the Distinguished Alumnus for the year 2023/24. Her dedication and commitment serve as an inspiration to us all, and we look forward to celebrating her achievements at the upcoming convention.

Warm regards,
